As you may already know, I work as a technical tutor at an arts University. And part of my role is to show students some of the functionality within Adobe Photoshop. To do this I tend to use mostly stock images with a few of my own mixed in. The purpose of this post is to highlight a particular image that I have used regularly over the years.
Its a stock image from Adobe. A simple head and shoulders portrait of a woman. The reason I bring attention to her, is that I believe she deserves some recognition. Over the past 4 months alone, she has been retouched by over 200 students and upon discovering the power of Photoshop, many of them have been unkind to this innocent unknown lady. As I browse over the students screens I commonly see a few extra eyes, a missing nose or some unfortunate facial hair. Yet each week as I start a new class, there she is, resolute in her role as a visual mentor for todays youth.
So I would like to make a toast to this mystery lady, in helping so many become proficient with tools of deceit;
The the blonde haired lady!
(Rollover for an example of what I teach them)

(Yes, I'm aware that this may make me a morally bad person)

(But it's fun!)

I loved this post! It was humorous while being compassionate towards the blond lady :)
I also enjoy your photoshop skills. Great post!
Absolutely fantastic.
Can you teach me to do that please?
The Photoshop Lady would be proud - and so should the teacher. ;)
Hey Robbie! Oh, the sins that have been visited upon her by Creative Yoof. The good news is that she can always be returned to her original, simple, beautiful form. Immortality. Indigo
You can imagine the chaos that results from some people given just a little understanding of layers, selections etc.....
Cheers one and all, she is a courageous woman that needed acknowledgment :)
Keith - your avatar speaks volumes (chuckle)
