I'm Bats-man...

For the past month I have been mostly thinking about bats. With a desire to upgrade my existing D&D tattoo - an insignia I designed for one of my favorite D&D characters, Gumley - I looked far and wide for some inspiration. I finally fell upon my graphic novel collection - most of which is Batman - and the tattoo expansion became clear, I took various bat shapes from a number of batman GN's to create a swarm. Which Martin from The Black Pearl took onboard (also a batman fanboy) and added his own twist to create a tattoo that looks awesome whilst still being extremely Geek

But the batman inspired creativity didn't stop there! I had never before attempted to make brushes for Photoshop - an application I use often - so with my bat sketches still to hand I got to work. This is an ongoing project and my results are far from accomplished, as iDifficult pointed out, my fist attempt looked like a page of pubes. But I feel Bats1.1 are looking better and so far Bats1.2 are shaping up nicely

With all this unaccustomed bat focused brain activity, I started looking around my abode with a more honed eye. And was actually quite surprised by how much flying mammal crime fighting paraphernalia I had lying around! No wonder I was so comfortable with getting so many of the fellas inked on my arm, Batman it would seem, is an integrated part of my life already. Here is some of what I found:

I even found this cheeky chap sitting right under my nose!

Thanks for stopping by =)

You are a strange, tall, handsome, alpha-geeky kinda guy. And long may it continue, your Royal Battyness!

Batman was never so creative!
- probably the reason he never thought to carry his insignia right under his nose...
